About Us

Our troop embarks on High Adventure programs. We went to Philmont Scout Ranch on July 1, 2013 and backpacked over 85 miles of rugged terrain. The crews toured the Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

In 2016, the troop traveled to Florida Sea Base, located in the Florida Keys for a week long tall ship sailing adventure.  The scouts on the adventure went snorkeling, fishing, learned nautical navigation and how to sail the Calypso Gypso, an 80 foot sailing ketch.  They also were able to visit the Southernmost Point in the Continental United States.

In 2017, two crews traveled to Northern Tier High Adventure Base, located in the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota in 2017 for a week long canoe adventure. The crews paddled over 50 miles for the week.  They endured rough weather a couple of days in contrast to the clear, blue skies of the Boundary Water area.  And yes, there were plenty of mosquitoes on the trip.  The crews made a brief stop at the Mall of America as well as Fort Snelling in Minneapolis.

In 2019, one crew traveled to Philmont Scout Rand for another 10 day backpacking adventure. We backpacked over 65 miles, endured rainstorms, went horseback riding, rock climbing, archery, and other fun activities. The crew climbed to the top of Mount Phillips, almost 12,000 elevation. While in the area, we visited Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy and drove to the top of Pikes Peak.

In 2022, two crews traveled to Florida Seabase for a split land/sea adventure. While one crew was sailing, the other crew went kayaking and paddleboarding.  The crews visited the southern most point in the US, an alligator farm, took a ride on an airboat and toured the History of Diving museum.  

In 2024, we will head to Philmont Scout Ranch for another high adventure backpacking trip

We attend summer camp at Camp Karoodinha. Camp K is located in the western part of Union County

We have a full calendar with typically one weekend adventure per month, in addition to other events and service projects.

Adventures include backpacking, ziplining, kayaking, whitewater rafting, participating in Klondike Derby in February and helping our Cub Scout Pack 3538 with their activities.
